Mr. Ahmed Abdalla Balhol Elfalasy, the President of General Organization of Sports and the vice-president of National Olympic Committee opened today (Thursday morning) the meeting of the General Assembly of ABC in Le Meridian Hotel by welcoming the members of G.A. wishing them all the best of luck to have decisions which serve the Arab basketball; then he praised the success of the Arab National Team Championship which ended yesterday in Rashed Ben Hamdan Hall at El-Nasr Club; he emphasized his support to the Arab Confederation and all multiplayers games; he also praised the efforts of the organizing committee chaired by Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy the President of Arab Confederation and Emirate Basketball Federation which led to that success. His Majesty discloses the news about the multi-purpose hall in the near future.
Then Elkarakawy thanked him for that support, care and encouragement which will lead to develop all these games and achieve more success; he handed a commemorative shield to Him to express the Confederation’s gratitude for the Minister’s initiative and support.
Then the G.A. was convened and had many decisions as follow:
- Approve the forming of the Board after resolve the issue of the Vice-President for the sake of Aly Benzerty for Arab Morocco region.
- There was a secret ballot to elect a region’s member and Abo Oreify Rabbeh won.
- Approve the administrational and financial reports and present the draft budget for the new term.
Everybody praised the report of the ABC General Secretary which was presented by General / Abdalla Shalaby the General Secretary of ABC and the good organization of the meeting done by Mr. Sherif Zaki the Confederation’s manager and Mr. Ayman Kasem the Financial Manager.
After the end of the meeting, the Confederation’s new Board had its first meeting chaired by Major-General Ismail Elkarkawy and his five Vice-presidents and the members.

The most important decision was:
The establishment of three committees; the first one is for international relations chaired by Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy, the second one is for the technical management chaired by Mr. Abdelrahman Almosaad and the third one is for marketing chaired by Mr. Nadeem Hakeem.
