The new ABC Board in its new term chaired by Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy who reserved his position has included 6 new members as follow: Aly El-Benzerty (Tunisia) as a vice-president for Arab Morocco Region; it has been agreed on him in the coordination meeting for zone federations which was held in Dubai before the General Assembly Meeting, Nadeem Hakeem (Lebanon) the president of Beirut Club and the former president of EL-Hekma Club, Nora Elsewedy (Emirates) Vice-President, Bo Oreify Rabeh (Algeria), Oweid Elanzy (Kuwait), Rehab Taha Elghanaam (Egypt) as a Board member while the president reserved his position beside Dr. / Magdi Abo Frekha the President for Middle Zone, Abdelrahman Almosaad the vice-president for Arab Gulf Zone, Hassan Youssef for the Central Zone, Abdelsattar Elhamadany for Arab East Zone, Ibrahim Habash for Palestine; for the Committees there were three new committees have been established as follow: International Relations chaired by Ismail Elkarakawy and membership of Aly Elbenzerty, Mohamed Abdelmoteleb and Akram Elhalaby; Technical Administration Committee chaired by Abdelrahman Almosaad and membership of Abdelsattar Elhamadany and Bo Oreify; and Marketing Committee chaired by Nadeem Hakeem and membership of Mohamed Elmetery (Kuwait), Naser Elkaaby (Qatar), Osama Elfaysal (Sudan) and Aly Elbenzerty (Tunisia. The other Committees such as the Technical and Competitions Committee is chaired by Dr. Magdi Abo Frekha, the Media Committee and Public Relations Committee chaired by Mohamed Abdalla Alzaraony the Chief of Executive office in Emirates Basketball Federation; Coaches Committee chaired by Dr. Mouneir Ben Habib the technical manager of Emirates Federation; the Women Committee chaired by Nora Elsewedy (Emirates), 3x3 Committee chaired by Rehab Elghanam, it was decided to appoint Abdelraouf Ben Taleb (Morocco) the vice-president for Arab Morocco Zone in the former term as a consultant for the confederation’s president. Also, it was decided to reform the technical office of the President / Ismail Elkarakawy.
Everybody praised the role of the General Secretariat of ABC which includes General / Abdalla Shalaby, Salem Elmotawa the treasurer, Sherif Ahmed Zaki the Confederation Manager and Ayman Kasem the Financial Manager.
Elkarakawy: Elflasy’s directives are the most motivator for the Arab basketball.
Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy the President of Emirates Federation and ABC emphasized that the directives of Mr. / Ahmed Balhol Elflasy the President of General Organization of Sports and the Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee will be the most motivator to develop the game locally and in the Arab World; the Minister said that the support of both federations will always support and help all the championships held in Emirates and emphasized that ABC has a lot of challenges in the new term but they are keen to create their programs and championships in their time and work on developing the game to reach the Continental and international levels; expressing his optimism for the future of the game.
Nadeem Hakeem: choosing me a vice-president put on my big responsibilities.
Evidence of developing the game is crowning Lebanon with the title of Arab basketball.
The Lebanese Nadeem Hakeem who was selected ABC Vice-President said that the selection was a great honor and put him in front of big responsibilities to develop the Arab basketball.
He also said that being among the Arab basketball family after the new form will be a good motivation to do his best in giving and work hard for the sake of his beloved game.
He continued saying: his selection as the new Marketing Committee Chief which will be one of the most important Committee during the Board meeting will give him the chance to support the Confederation financially and he is looking for all the ways that make the Confederation stronger and able to do its activities.
He described the winning of Lebanon national team the title of Arab basketball Champ after 48 years is a big step and that is what distinguishing the Lebanon basketball despite the economic, health and political circumstances of the country.
Nadeem said that he wishes the Lebanon basketball continues its development and the Arab basketball to be on the continental and international level.
Nadeem mentioned that he was selected as a Vice-president after the withdrawal of Iraqi representative; wishing him health and soon recovery to be with the Arab basketball family.
He praised the success of the 24th edition of Arab National Team Championship and he added that Emirates always has its own touch on every Event and Championship it hosts, he thanked the efforts of the LOC of the Championship Chaired by Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy the President of Emirates Federation and ABC; he indicated that the media role had important influence on the success of the Championship by its unique coverage.
Hassan Youssef:
Sudan basketball will be back strong during the coming period.
We have a treasure of talented and tall players.
Hassan Youssef the ABC’s Board member and the second Vice-president of Sudanese federation assured that the Sudanese basketball with all its categories will be back soon and has an important role in the Arab basketball.
He said that there were forced conditions led to the low level of Sudanese basketball and the current federation is working on putting a plan that will support the development of the activity which were been practiced widely on most of the clubs and in Khartoum the Capital.
Hassan Youssef said that the tall players in Sudan needs someone to discover them and develop their skills either in men, women, juniors or youth teams.
The ABC’ Board member was keen to praise the good success of the Arab Basketball National Teams Championship that ended last Wednesday.
He said that Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy who is respected from everybody, did a lot of effort to succeed such Championship.
Hassan Youssef clarified that the Championship was very developed and had a very competitive level and many players appeared with very good level.
He said that Lebanon national team deserved the Champ title and they knew how to end the game for their side in the last moments and the Tunisian team was a strong competitor most of the times of the game.
He said that the ABC’s meeting was fruitful and its result will be disclosure for all people soon.
He said that selecting Osama Faysal the President of Sudan Basketball Federation in the Marketing Committee in addition to select Amira Abo Tawyla in the Women Committee is emphasizing the trust in the Sudanese cadres.
At the end of his speech, he thanked all the members of LOC and the sub-committees of the Championship which helped in the achieved success.
