Kuwait snatched the lead in Group A in the last two minutes after its exciting victory over Al-Ittihad of Alexandria, the championship leader, by one basket, with a score of 74/72. It is remarkable that the Alexandrian team was superior by eight points, but the Kuwaiti players’ insistence on winning and its success in the three- and free-throws turned the scales in the last minutes to let the owner of the land meets with Al-Minaa Al- Yemeni, the fourth of the second group, in the next round, which will be held by the knockout system, while Al-Ittihad will play with the Qatari Al-Gharafa, the third of the second group. The first quarter ended in a tie of 19/19.
In the third group, Al-Ahly of Bahrain defeated Al-Bashaer Al-Omani 68/62 and occupied the second place after Kazma. The Bahrani team will meet Degla of Iraq the third of fourth group who achieved a great victory on Boufarik Algeria 86/66; also Al- Gharafa of Qatar won Yamani Al-Minaa 78/73.
