As expected, the Egyptian national team was crowned champion of Arab basketball women for the fifth time after its victory over its Moroccan counterpart 96/75 at the end of the 13th edition, which was held in the Halls Complex in Cairo Stadium yesterday evening, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Major General M. Ismail Al karaqawi the President of Arab and Emirati Basketball Federations and Dr. Magdy Abu Freikha, Vice President of the Arab Federation, President of the Egyptian Federation. Experience played its role by outweighing the favor of the land owners who are waiting for an African participation in Rwanda at the end of this month, qualifying for the World Cup finals. The first half of the match ended in favor of Egypt 56/27 and the highest score was for the Egyptian player Raneem Al-geddawi, with 25 points. In the match for determining the third and fourth places, the Algerian team did not find any difficulty in defeating its Kuwaiti counterpart 74/37 and obtaining the bronze medal.
