The 13th star of the Pharaohs team beat Libya by 25 points and deserved the Arab leadership

 

The Egyptian team was crowned champion of the 25th edition of the Arab basketball teams after defeating its Libyan counterpart by a margin of 25 points (62/87) in the final match that was held this evening in the Futsal Complex in Cairo Stadium. The first half was a debate between the two sides and ended in favor of Egypt by one point (38/39). But the Libyan defense collapsed after that thanks to the successive penetrations and three-pointers that reached 11 out of 36 attempts from outside the arc, amidst the cheers of the huge Egyptian audience. Following the match, Dr. Ashraf Al-Bijrami, representative of the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, and Dr. Magdy Abu Freikha, Vice President of the Arab Federation. The President of the Egyptian Federation honored the champion team, while he crowned the Libyan team that won second place. Abdul Rahman Al-Massaad, Vice President of the Arab Federation, Ali Al-Barti, Vice President of the Arab Federation, President of the Tunisian University, handed out bronze medals to Hassan Youssef, Vice President of the Sudanese Federation, Member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Federation, and Rehab Al-Ghannam, Member of the Board of Directors. The Arab and Egyptian Federations, while Brigadier General Abdullah Shalabi, Secretary General of the Arab Federation, honored the tournament referees.

At the tournament's star level, Egyptian player Youssef Shehata won the triple-point scorer award, Christian from the UAE national team won the top scorer award, and Omar Obada from Tunisia won the best player award.
