Rashed Ben Hemdan hall in Al-Nasr Club had Arab Final which is hard to be repeated; the Tunisian team controlled the beginning of the fourth period and particularly in the first half of it and the team has the lead by 9 points and all the attendees in the blue hall who were up to three thousand audience, which is rarely happens in basketball courts, thought that the Cup will go to Tunisian team but the Cedar men came back to the Game in the last 1:46 minute and could win it and had the Cup directed to Lebanon as they ended the game by score difference 3 points (72-69) and be on top of Arab basketball for the first time since 1947 where the Championship held for the first time. The Cedar team celebrated the victory by a crazy way among its audience which cover ¾ of the hall and left ¼ of the hall to Tunisian team.
The President of the Lebanon Federation / Akram ElHalaby expressed that joy by shortening his speech by saying: this is the true face of Lebanon basketball, the team’s stars wrote a new history despite the suffering of Lebanon people in the last years and the difficulties which faced the delegation before coming to Dubai and I mean the financial difficulties; he continued his speech saying that if his national team achieved a long waited victory, LOC chaired by Major-General / Ismail Elkarakawy deserves the golden medal for the organization. Thanks for Emirates Basketball Federation, thanks for Arab Confederation.
